Hathor Intelligent City Systems (HICS) Company founder, Abdelhamid El Sayyad (1926 – 2018) has always been a public figure with significant importance to the electricity field in Egypt. After several years of serving the governments’ ministry of electricity, he was chosen as the Rural Electrification Authority Chairman (1979-1981) and was then promoted to the position of Egyptian Electrification Authority Chairman (1982 – 1986).

His exhaustive efforts were recognized by French President Francois Mitterrand when he delegated the French Embassy in Cairo to award him the Cavalier Accolade in 1987 for his exemplary work.

In 1987, Eng. Abdelhamid El Sayyad founded Schneider Electric Egypt as a branch of the Schneider Electric company based in Rueil-Malmaison, France. Ever since its founding, Eng. Abdelhamid El Sayyad remained Chairman and one of the leading shareholders of the company.

As we entered the new century, Schneider Electric Egypt moved buildings from Nasr City province to the Fifth Settlement, which Eng. Abdelhamid El Sayyad established and dedicated to Schneider Electric Egypt as their new headquarters building.

The partnership with Schneider Electric Egypt has grown overtime and strengthened into an unbreakable bond in which endless trust lies within both sides.

Due to those exhaustive efforts, 2011 represented the birth of a new company reflecting the success story and dedication of a veteran in the field of electricity, Hathor Intelligent City Systems.
